Privacy Policy

This policy explains the limited information Newton Residents Directory receives, how it is used, and the choices available to visitors. No account is needed to read the Newton public-records reference pages.

Information You Send

A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is handled by the third-party service that supplies results; Newton Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those queries. A message sent to us contains only what the sender provides and is used to respond.

Automatic Technical Data

Hosting services may create routine server logs, including IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and time stamps. Aggregate review helps maintain the service and understand which reference pages are used. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement.

How Information Is Used

Technical data is used to operate, secure, repair, measure, and improve the service. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.

External Services and Links

Official Newton, Massachusetts, library, archive, court, and search-provider links lead to services with their own privacy terms. Their rules govern information entered there, including any sponsored-result provider.

Service Providers

Hosting, analytics, and support providers may process the limited automatic information described here. Information is disclosed only when valid legal process requires disclosure or the law otherwise requires it.

Security and Retention

The service uses an encrypted connection. Logs are retained only for the operational purposes stated above. No account, password, or visitor profile is created by this reference service.

Visitors Under 18

The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18; contact us if you believe such information was sent so it can be deleted.

Privacy Requests

Depending on applicable law, a visitor may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data a service keeps. Massachusetts Public Records Law, G.L. c.66 and 950 CMR 32.00, controls public-record requests to government custodians, not this private reference. For a request about contact messages or available logs, use the Contact page. A public-record correction or removal request belongs with the Newton, state, court, or library custodian that keeps the material.

Policy Changes

Any revision will appear here. Continued use after publication of a revision indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
